The Fastest Windows Settings...
This guide was developed with Windows XP however the same goal applies to any windows os.


Open the "Display Properties" from your Control Panel or Right Click on the desktop and select properties.

  • Goto: Start > Run > Control

Open the Display Icon


The Themes Tab

  • Select Windows Classic
  • Press Apply

  • Click on the Desktop Tab

The Desktop Tab

  • Select None for the Background.
  • Select a Background color.
  • Press Apply

  • Click on the Appearance Tab

The Appearance Tab

  • Select Windows Classic style
  • Windows Standard Color Scheme
  • Normal Font Size

  • Click on the Effects... Button.

The Effects Button

  • Uncheck Transition Effects. (Tooltips)
  • Uncheck Large Icons
  • Uncheck Shadows Under Menus

  • Press OK

Completed Display Properties!

  • Press OK to close the Display Properties window.
